#030 Naughty Bits

This whole little bathing scene was written early on, before we had much in the way of character designs or a full grasp of the world yet. As such, it needed some editing once I got this far along in drawing the pages. In the original script, when Namai’sal came out of the water, June proceeded to try to block her view of both the woman’s breasts and crotch, with little success. Being that the tribe ended up being topless anyway, June has seen more boobies the last 24 hours than the rest of her life combined, so the joke no longer made sense. It was also going to require a whole other page after this one to really drive the point home, with Kets’zual and Namai’sal discussing the strangeness of the Na-Rune-Tok’s ways while June flailed about. I’m definitely liking this shortened version much more than the original.

June’s overly-dramatic reaction was so much fun to draw and really captures her feelings on this entire adventure thus far.
