#081 Lost In Translation

Some things just don’t translate over gracefully. The idea for this page actually comes from the fact that, in the area where we live, there is a Spanish curse word, which I will not repeat here, that no one seems able to properly translate. The most common ‘translation’ I’ve gotten is to be told in a scandalized voice, “You just don’t say that!” Other translations are so varied, ranging from literal interpretations to comparing it to English curse words, though seldom the same ones.
